LISA’S PRIORITIES
Cost of living
Lisa supports efforts to expand housing supply and develop new energy sources like offshore wind to stabilize those costs. In addition, she supports measures to empower workers so their wages keep pace with rising costs.
Jobs & the local economy
Lisa believes retaining and creating good jobs that pay fair wages needs to be Job #1.
She supports strong investments in the cornerstones of a vibrant economy: schools, roads, bridges, ports, railways, etc.
Safe communities
Lisa supports state investments in police and fire protection through local aid to cities and towns, but believes the current distribution formula needs reform to ensure Taunton and Easton are getting their fair share.
Health care
Lisa supports investments in substance use prevention/treatment and mental health. She believes Massachusetts needs to respond to federal cuts that will leave hundreds of thousands of people without health insurance.
Transparent & accountable government
Lisa believes citizens deserve accessible, transparent, accountable government, which is why she supported the 2024 ballot question giving the state auditor authority to audit the Legislature.
“Pre-K to Gray” educational opportunity
Lisa believes there is an urgent need to revisit the state’s school funding formula to make sure no public school students are left behind. She also believes education and job training should be lifelong pursuits so adults can adjust to a changing economy.
Veterans
Lisa believes supporting those who have served our country is a fundamental responsibility of government. Period. Veterans and their families need confidence that their needs will not be sidelined by shifting federal priorities.
Taxes and government spending
Lisa supported a no-new-taxes, balanced, bi-partisan budget that preserves the state’s “rainy day fund.” She is focused on ensuring that Taunton and Easton receive their fair share of state funding for schools, health care, public safety, roads, and other critical local services.
